John 8

Read: John 8
My Verse: John 8:10-11 - 10 Jesus straightened up and asked her, "Woman, where are they? Has no one condemned you?" 11 "No one, sir," she said. "Then neither do I condemn you," Jesus declared. "Go now and leave your life of sin."
My Reflections: It's tough to go through a week in the church, without someone condemning someone else, for something (usually something little). Why don't we listen to God? Is it our job to condemn? Jesus did not condemn this woman. He did, however tell her to "go and sin no more". He did correct her, and I think we get a lesson from that, in how we should treat others in their sin. We are not to condemn, but to correct. Help people get back on the right track. He didn't ignore the issue, but he also didn't condemn the woman
My Prayer: Lord, thank you for your forgiveness. Help me to follow your teaching, and not condemn, but correct. Help me to remember that my job is to bring others closer to you, not to condemn them. Amen.
