What people buzz about

To create buzz your church has to be having an impact.
To have an impact, you have to find a way to speak people's language
Find a way to present our beliefs in a language people who need Jesus understand.
Buzz happens one person at a time.
Buzz can come from big things, but more often comes from unexpected care.
Help people
Buzz is great, but
Impact only happens if you're understood. Speak their language
-look at your service from the filter of a non-Christian, not our church loving filter
-Try looking through the filter of pop culture, and then use it/harness it.
-We have to accept that this is the filter that most people look through, that is where their
opinions are formed.
-Use pop culture as a hook to capture people's attention
-look for topics in movies/music/tv/etc. that would meet felt needs
-Use pop culture to lower defenses
-it can help people to laugh or think (ex. Granger introduced a series on marriage with
a performance of Summer Lovin' from the movie Grease)
We should be looking for great art, and then redeem/re-create it
As cross cultural missionaries (which we all are), we can't afford to be out of touch with culture.
