Risk Taking

I personally, by nature, am not a big risk taker. This is something that I am trying to work on. I have noticed that the larger the risk I take, the greater the reward is. You can see why I might be working on becoming more of a risk taker, I want the greater rewards. I think the same goes in the church. If we just keep doing things the way we have always done them, great rewards do not seem likely. With the right preparation, and stepping out in faith to take a little (or big) risk, great rewards can be had for God's kingdom. I'm so excited to be part of a church that is beginning to take some calculated risks to make a difference in our community. BTW, I do believe when taking a risk you need to be over prepared, or you are just asking for failure. The message must remain the same, but if we plan to reach people in my or future generations, the methods have to change. And methods don't change easily, or without taking some risks. Does anybody have some examples of great rewards coming from taking risks either in your personal or church life?
