I'm Back

Wow, that was fun. Got back Saturday afternoon, and took the rest of the weekend to recover from that trip. It is amazing to watch what happens when you take kids out of their element, the changes that happen. We had kids who had been told their whole life that they couldn't do anything, who by the end of the trip were going out canoing on their own. We had some kids who would rate as the biggest pain in the rears at our school, who as soon as they were away from people they felt they needed to impress, turned into some of the nicest most helpful kids on the trip. Things like this are why I am willing to give up my family time once in a while to go on trips like this. It kind of gives me hope for some of the people in my life who seem the most hopeless. Anyway, I'm going to try to get back to posting regularly, so keep checkin back.
